A perfect breakfast option and so quick and easy to make. Just place everything in a blender and process until thick and creamy. I used the banana protein powder from Protein Rebel which gives these waffles a massive protein boost. You can make the batter ahead of time and keep in the fridge until ready to cook.
Overview
Makes 6 waffles (depending on size of your waffle maker)
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
What’s Good About It?
Adding protein powder to pancakes and waffles batters is an easy way to increase the protein content and lower the overall carbohydrates by replacing some of the flour with protein powder.
- Simply place all the ingredients (except the chocolate chips) in a blender and process until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Heat a little oil in the waffle maker and when ready pour in some of the batter. Cook according to the manufacturers instructions. Repeat with the remaining batter.
- Serve with chopped banana or other fruit, nuts and coconut yogurt.
