Craving Chocolate? Why not make up a batch of these delicious homemade protein chocolates. Perfect for Valentine’s day and being rich in protein they are delicious as a post workout treat. I use chocolate moulds from Lakeland but you could simply use an ice cube tray instead. You can save time by switching the filling for pure fruit jam instead if you wish. Once set keep them in the fridge for up to 1-2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months. I use a strawberry protein powder to really boost the flavour and for a further antioxidant hit stir in some acai berry or goji berry powder too. To make your own strawberry puree simply blend up a bag of defrosted frozen strawberries until smooth. Watch my video showing how to make these

What’s good about it?
Goji berry powder is packed with amino acids, antioxidants and vitamin C making it a wonderful immune boosting ingredient. Try adding it to smoothies, raw cheesecakes and chia puddings for a healthy boost.
Instructions
- Make up the filling. Simply place the protein powder in a bowl and mix in the strawberry puree and berry powder if using. Mix enough of the puree to make a stiff paste.
- To make your own chocolate place the coconut oil in a saucepan and gently melt. Whisk in the cacao powder and sweetener and beat well to make sure it is thoroughly mixed. Alternatively melt around 100g dairy free plain chocolate instead.
- Lightly grease your chocolate moulds. Pour a little chocolate into the base of each mould. Place in the freezer to firm. Remove from the freezer then spoon in a little of the strawberry filling. Pour over a little more chocolate to coat. Place back in the freezer until firm.
- Remove from the freezer and knock out of the moulds. Place in the fridge until required.
Did You Know?
Any berry superfood powder could be used in this recipe. Acai berry powder is now readily available. Acai is an indigenous berry commonly found in the rain forests of the Amazon. Acai berries are extremely high in anthocyanins, a form of plant antioxidants known to be particularly beneficial for healthy aging and heart health.
